The Father Knows Best!

Advent Mission

Join us for our 3-day Advent Mission,

“The Father Knows Best!” on December 2, 3 and 4.

Our guest presenter, Rev. Richard Fragomeni, will help us examine Gaudete et Exsultate,

Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation on the Call to Holiness in Today’s World.

Pope Francis reminds us that, “We are all called to be holy by living our lives with love and by bearing witness in everything we do, wherever we find ourselves“(14).

We will examine chapters 1, 2 and 5.

But how can we be the models of holiness God wants us to be?

Fr. Fragomeni will offer reflections and meditations that will help us and enhance our Advent journey. Each day will begin with morning Mass, followed by both a morning and an evening mission session. Each of the 6 sessions will be different in content:

· 8:00 a.m. Mass

· 8:45 a.m. Refreshments in the Parish Hall

· 9:00 a.m. Moving over to the church, we will have

Morning Meditations on Gaudete Et Exsultate

(taken from chapters 1, 2 and 5).

· 6:00 p.m. Refreshments in the Parish Hall

· 7:00 p.m. Moving over to the church, we will have

Advent Reflections on God in our Midst.

Each night will be different as we remember God’s goodness in the past,

discern God’s goodness in the present,

and wait in joyful hope for the fullness of God’s goodness in the future.

Simbang Gabi Mass & Reception at SEAS

Wednesday, December 18 at 6:00 p.m.

In this Filipino religious tradition, a novena of Masses is celebrated in the Philippines early in the morning, or in the early evening. It is also called “Misa de Gallo”(Mass when the cock crows) or “Misa de Aguinaldo”. Families wake up early, attend Mass and fill many churches. After liturgy, delicious Filipino food is served and shared by all. Thus, this novena becomes both a religious and social gathering. In the Las Vegas valley, a novena of Simbang Gabi Masses will be celebrated at different parishes with a simple reception following each Mass. All parishioners are invited to attend.
