Important Security Training for All SEAS VOLUNTEERS

Steve Meriwether, Director of Safety & Risk Management for the Archdiocese of Las Vegas, is requesting that all parish volunteers within the archdiocese attend the “See Something, Say Something, Mobilization Indicators and National Suspicious Activity Reporting Class.”

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Southern Nevada Counter

Terrorism Center wants to make sure they empower their faith-based partners in preventing mass violence and terrorism. With Christmas around the corner the threat levels always increase, and houses of worship are a soft target. This community partner presentation is approximately 45 minutes to one-hour and is free.

PARISH VOLUNTEERS, if you were not able to attend the first class on November 12, the class will be repeated on Tuesday, December 3, at 6 p.m.,

at the Archdiocese of Las Vegas (Anderson Hall), at 336 Cathedral Way, Las Vegas 89109.

So the Archdiocese knows how many people to expect, sign up HERE

Questions? Contact Marcie Wilske at mwilske@seaslv.org or 702-804-8370.

The scam artists are at it again!

Please, if you receive an email, a text message, or any kind of communication claiming to be from Fr. Jim asking you to purchase gift cards or make any kind of purchase for him, DO NOT DO IT! This is a scam.

Neither Fr. Jim, Fr. Joachim, nor any SEAS staff member will ask you to buy gift cards for us because we are "tied up in a meeting" or "don't have time to get them ourselves." The scammers may say we need these gift cards to take to someone we are about to visit in the hospital; therefore urging you to act immediately. These are all lies.

Report any such scam email or text message to your internet or cell phone provider.

Please share with your family and friends that this is a very prevalent scam happening all over, and the scammers can be very convincing.

Thank you for helping to spread the word.
