Outreach Ministry

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me"

Matthew 25:35-36

SEAS Food Pantry Reopening in Late September

We will once again start accepting non-perishable food donations beginning

Sept. 12 and 13. See the details and safe donation drop-off instructions below.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish had a very active food pantry —  more than 130 families came weekly to receive assistance with groceries; in partnership with Three Square Food Bank, we held a free monthly Farmers’ Market serving over 300 people each month; a senior food program (age 60 plus) called Golden Groceries had just begun. But on March 18, we had to close our food receiving and distribution programs for the health and safety of all involved.

Outreach Ministry volunteers stayed in contact with over 300 of our food pantry clients. They shared information from Three Square regarding locations to receive food, links to the state rental/utilities/mortgage assistance programs and checked in to see how people were doing during these difficult times.

We continued to assist those who contacted the Outreach Ministry (a few of our homeless people and some families), but we did not receive many people needing help UNTIL THIS MONTH.  We received more inquiries about donating food and needing food this month than we did in the previous four months. Therefore, the time has come to start asking for food donations and slowly re-opening our food pantry.

Please begin bringing your non-perishable food donations on Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13 and every Saturday and Sunday thereafter, 45 minutes before the start of each Mass.
